10 killed in Sri Lanka suicide bombing

A suspected rebel suicide blast near a mosque in southern Sri Lanka killed 10 people and wounded three government ministers on Tuesday, according to Police spokesman Ranjith Gunasekara . Military spokesman Brig. Udaya Nanayakkara said the suicide bomber struck early Tuesday morning during a ceremony celebrating an Islamic holiday near the mosque outside the southern town of Matara. The Tamil Tiger rebels have been blamed for repeated attacks on senior government officials in the past.
