3 dead, 14 injured in Mosul blasts

Three Iraqi soldiers are dead and as many as 14 people have been wounded in two separate explosions in the city of Mosul. The US military says the three Iraqi soldiers were killed by a car bomb early Wednesday afternoon in western Mosul. The blast also wounded two other Iraqi soldiers and 11 civilians. Iraqi police say a hospital building and nearby vehicles also were damaged by the blast in the Zanjali neighborhood. In the second explosion, an unknown gunman threw a grenade at a police patrol in central Mosul. An Iraqi security official says two policemen and one civilian were wounded.
