A 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck overnight near the Northern Mariana Islands in the Pacific Ocean, the Hong Kong Observatory said Wednesday.
The quake was centered in seas 630 kilometers north of Saipan and was recorded in Hong Kong at 1534 GMT Tuesday.
It wasn't immediately clear if the tremor led to any casualties or damage.
