A 70-year-old woman from Brooklyn recently checked herself into a local emergency room complaining of symptoms similar to that of the coronavirus, according to Breaking News Network.
The report comes just a day after the death of the first American citizen in Wuhan, China, and amid reports that 14 American citizens that were on the Diamond Princess cruise last week have tested positive for the virus.
The death toll from coronavirus continues to climb. Numbers released Sunday by the National Health Commission (NHC) in China reported 908 deaths on Sunday, more than the 800 who died from Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) during that outbreak in 2003.
Across mainland China, there were 3,062 new confirmed infections on Sunday, bringing the total number so far to 40,171.
