Abbas to visit Indonesia this month

Palestinian Chairman Mahmoud Abbas will visit Indonesia in two weeks to hold talks with government leaders who have long supported his territory's independence struggle, the foreign ministry said. Abbas will arrive in Jakarta on June 23, said ministry spokesman Desra Percaya. Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim country, earlier this year said it was willing to provide the Palestinian Authority with technical assistance. It also offered to open a diplomatic mission in Ramallah.
