Afghan intel chief: Karzai was warned of plot to kill him

Afghanistan's intelligence chief says he warned President Hamid Karzai of the weekend assassination plot against him. Amrullah Saleh told Parliament on Monday that the plot to kill Karzai was hatched last month and the gunmen had rented the room they opened fire from 45 days before the attack. Karzai and other dignitaries escaped unharmed from Sunday's assault launched during a ceremony in Kabul. Taliban claimed responsibility. Three people died. Saleh admitted it was a failure of the security services to stop the attack.
