Afghan official: Suicide attack kills 12 civilians

Twelve civilians were killed in a suicide attack in southern Afghanistan on Thursday, an Afghan official said. Daud Ahmadi, a spokesman for the governor of Helmand province, said a suicide attacker on a motorbike set off his explosives near an international military vehicle in a market area of Gereshk district. He said the explosion also wounded at least 32 people. Ahmadi said he did not have information on whether there were any casualties among the international troops in the vehicle. NATO and US military spokespeople said they had not yet received reports about the incident.
