The body of Galit Sasson, the 23-year-old Israeli hiker from Nes Tziona who went missing in Peru after falling into a ravine, was recovered on Monday. Sasson fell down a 200-meter ravine near the town of Cuzco on Sunday. The Foreign Ministry notified Sasson's family. Rescue forces started searching for Sasson on Sunday, and Israel's ambassador in Peru, Gali Dagan, was on the scene. Sasson was traveling on a bus from Machu Pichu to Cuzco, south-west of the capital Lima. After the bus stopped to change a flat tire around nightfall, several hikers got off to smoke a cigarette. According to other hikers, Sasson was standing by the edge of the cliff and tripped on a stone which made her lose her balance. The other hikers hurried on to Cuzco, where they alerted police and security forces.
