An elderly Ukrainian-born US man accused of being a Nazi death camp guard has renewed his fight against deportation to Germany.
The attorney for John Demjanjuk told the immigration appeals board Thursday that the US government may have used misleading arguments in pushing to deport his 89-year-old client.
John H. Broadley argued that deporting Demjanjuk to face trial would amount to double jeopardy.
Demjanjuk was found guilty in Israel of war crimes and crimes against humanity in 1988. That conviction was later overturned.
The US government says Demjanjuk was never acquitted.
