A police official said seven suspected Islamic terrorists have been arrested in Paris and its suburbs.
The official said the suspects are in custody at France's domestic intelligence agency, which investigates terrorism-related crimes.
The official said the seven were arrested Tuesday morning but that they are not linked to the discovery of explosives in a Paris department store on the same day.
The official spoke on condition on anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the arrests publicly.
