Israel sends defense, forensics men to Mumbai

Two high-ranking security men will be sent to India on Sunday to assist with the investigation into the Mumbai attacks, defense officials said. According to the officials, one of the two is a representative of the Defense Ministry and the other is from the Shin Bet security service. They are expected to help coordinate security at Israeli sites in India with local authorities. The officials spoke Sunday on condition of anonymity because the Israelis' presence was not officially made public. Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said on Sunday that a forensics team would be leaving later in the day for Mumbai to help identify the bodies of the Israelis. An Israeli air force plane will fly the team to India and return with the bodies.
