A military plane crashed during a training flight in western Turkey, an official said Tuesday.
The governor of Balikesir province, Selahattin Hatipoglu, said rescue teams are trying to reach the plane. It was not clear if the two pilots survived.
The aircraft took off from a jet base in the province. The cause of the crash was not immediately clear. Sky-Turk television says the plane was an F-4 Phantom jet.
