A key figure in the corruption probe that spurred Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's resignation was acquitted of assaulting a Long Island dentist.
A Nassau County District Court judge ruled Tuesday that prosecutors hadn't proved that Morris Talansky attacked Dr. Leonard Barashick in a 2007 dispute over dental work.
Judge William O'Brien said he didn't believe Barashick's testimony.
Talansky, an American businessman, said he is "grateful to the Almighty and to my defense attorneys."
Talansky testified in Jerusalem in May that he gave Olmert $150,000, often in cash-stuffed envelopes, before Olmert became prime minister. Olmert denies any wrongdoing.
