N. Korea: Japan should not take part in nuke talks
By JERUSALEM POST STAFF
North Korea on Saturday lashed out at Japan for comments by officials that they won't accept the communist nation as a nuclear power, and said Tokyo shouldn't take part in revived talks on the North's nuclear program.
The North's Foreign Ministry said in a statement that "there is no need for Japan to participate in (the talks) as a local delegate because it is no more than a state of the US and it is enough for Tokyo just to be informed of the results of the talks by Washington."
Japan is a common target for the North's hostile rhetoric, stemming to Tokyo's imperial occupation of the Korean peninsula in the early 20th century.
