Yemeni tribesmen kidnapped a German gas worker and two of his Yemeni colleagues Sunday in southern Yemen, a security official said.
The tribesmen who kidnapped the men in Shabwa province have demanded the release of one of their members arrested by the government, said the official.
An official from Yemen LNG Co. Ltd. confirmed the kidnappings and said the men were working for a contractor that was building gas pipelines in the country.
Both officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.
