The Pakistani government has welcomed US President Barack Obama's decision to close the Guantanamo Bay detention facility.
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry said closing the facility adds "the much needed moral dimension in dealing with terrorism."
The ministry's statement Saturday says Obama's decision was a step toward "upholding the primacy of the rule of law."
