Pakistan's parliament convenes for confidence vote on new PM

Pakistan's parliament is convening for a vote of confidence on the new prime minister and to hear his plans for his first 100 days in office.
Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani was elected earlier this week by the new legislature, which is dominated by followers of slain opposition leader Benazir Bhutto.
Saturday's vote is largely ceremonial, a constitutional requirement to show the prime minister has parliament's trust.
Gilani is also expected to lay out his legislative plans for the next 100 days.
Partners in the new government have vowed to slash the powers of US-backed President Pervez Musharraf and review his counter-terrorism policies.
