Partial results in Macedonian election put leading party in front

Macedonia's election commission said initial partial results from the country's presidential ballot showed the governing party's candidate leading the race.
The commission said Gjorgje Ivanov is likely to go through to a runoff vote on April 5, but it was still too early to say which of the six other candidates would make it to the second-round vote.
Election commission head Aleksandar Novakovski said Sunday that votes from 16.2 percent of polling stations indicated social democrat SDSM party candidate Ljubomir Frckovski was in second place followed by former Interior Minister Ljube Boskoski.
Final results are expected Monday.
