A small aircraft crashed into an apartment building in the Swiss city of Basel on Monday, police and airport officials said. The pilot of the plane died.
It was too early to say if there were any other deaths or injuries, said Vincent Devauchelle, deputy director of the EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, across the border in France.
The crash happened at around 11:00 local time in the northwest of the city, said Klaus Mannhart, spokesman for Basel cantonal (state) police.
