Police: Explosion in central Athens; no reports of injuries
By JERUSALEM POST STAFF
Police say an explosion has occurred in central Athens near a police headquarters and the Supreme Court.
No other information was immediately available about Thursday's blast at 9:30 p.m. (1930 GMT), including what caused it and whether it resulted in any injuries.
But Greece has been suffering from an upsurge in violence, including bombings, by anarchist groups and far-left militants in the wake of major riots in December. Those riots were sparked in Greece by the fatal police shooting of a teenage boy.
