Pope: Christians, Jews and Muslims in the Holy Land must make peace
By JERUSALEM POST STAFF
Pope Benedict XVI on Sunday urged Christians, Jews and Muslims in the Holy land to work together for peace and justice.
He said the Holy Land was a symbol of God's love for his people, but that its history has shown it was a symbol of exactly the opposite, of divisions and unending conflicts. It should become a microcosm of love and peace, said the pontiff.
Benedict made the appeal as he reflected on his recent visit to the region during his traditional Sunday blessing in St. Peter's Square.
