Russia won the gold-medal match at the ice hockey world championship Sunday, beating Canada 2-1.
The Russians defended their title in a rematch of last year's final despite trailing to Jason Spezza's early goal.
Russia leveled on a power-play goal from Oleg Saprykin in the first period and got the winning score from forward Alex Radulov late in the second.
Canada dominated the shot count and Russia's Ilya Bryzgalov made 37 saves. Dwayne Roloson made 15 stops for Canada.
Russia, which went unbeaten through the tournament despite trailing in six of its nine matches, now holds a 25-24 edge over Canada in total world titles.
