Brazil's government on Saturday said it will help nearly 500 of its citizens flee escalating violence in Lebanon in the next two days.
About 70 Brazilians were expected to leave the Lebanese capital of Beirut aboard a Canadian chartered ship on Sunday, with 400 more to leave on buses via Syria, government officials said.
Military planes would pick up the Brazilians in the southern Turkish city of Adana, Foreign Ministry official Everton Vargas told the government news service Agencia Brasil.
About 140 Brazilians left Lebanon earlier Saturday, bringing the number of citizens evacuated from the country to 330.
