China's foreign minister called on Iran on Tuesday to intensify its cooperation with the United Nation's nuclear watchdog and for the Security Council to pursue a diplomatic resolution to the nuclear dispute. "We welcome, support and call upon Iran to step up cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency," Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing said at a news conference. Li reiterated China's support for a peaceful resolution to the dispute between Iran and the United States and European Union powers, which suspect Teheran may be pursuing a nuclear weapons program.
