Iran urges Obama not to comment on imprisoned US journalist

Iran has urged President Barack Obama not to comment on the case of a US journalist convicted for spying and sentenced to prison before learning the details. Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Hasan Qashqavi says Obama's training as a lawyer does not mean he should comment on Roxana Saberi's case without the proper context. He spoke to reporters during his weekly press briefing Monday. Obama said Sunday he was "gravely concerned" about the safety and well-being of Saberi and was confident she wasn't involved in espionage Iran announced Saturday that Saberi, a 31-year-old dual American-Iranian citizen, was sentenced to eight years in prison for spying for the United States. Teheran has not released many details of the case.
