14 mobsters suspected in multiple murders arrested
The detainees are suspected of involvement in the assassination of Avi David, shot at point-blank range outside a Bat Yam steakhouse in October 2011, among others.

The head of a major criminal organization was arrested along with 13 others on Tuesday in connection with multiple murders and a litany of violent offenses in the developing police case “No. 1131.”The names of the suspects are withheld under gag order and the police have extended their detention under an order from the Rishon Lezion District Court. The detainees are suspected of involvement in the assassination of Avi David, shot at point-blank range outside a Bat Yam steakhouse in October 2011, and the deaths of Jordan Azoulay, Sharon Mizrahi, Yitzhak Geffen, Mor Algarbli, Moshe Anhiisi, Rami Amira, and Bar Cohen.In addition to the murders, the suspects are believed to have participated in several attempted murders and a conspiracy to harm in 2012, an attempted murder with a car bomb in 2015, and throwing a grenade in Rishon Lezion.Police are also investigating the suspects for a case of weapon theft from an IDF vehicle in 2014, and extortion and arson of businesses in Tel Aviv’s Carmel Market.An earlier case of illegal weapons possession in a Tel Aviv kindergarten, which already led to one conviction, is also being investigated in connection with the arrests.The investigation was conducted by a branch of the Lahav 433 National Crime Unit. Police have detained 12 suspects, and an additional suspect will have a court hearing on Wednesday
