A 17-year-old Palestinian resident of east Jerusalem was arrested on Saturday after he was found to be armed with a knife, the Israel Police confirmed on Sunday morning.
"The suspect was arrested at Damascus Gate on Saturday after units noticed that he was acting suspiciously," the police said in a statement.  "While being searched, a knife was found hidden in his clothes and the suspect was arrested and later questioned by police."
The suspect was expected to appear in court on Sunday as investigations into the incident continue.
Earlier this month, a 14-year-old girl who was waiting at a bus stop on her way to school, was lightly injured in a stabbing in the Armon Hanatziv neighborhood in southeast Jerusalem. Her attacker has not yet been found.
