30-year-old man stabbed in a Jerusalem mall, police shot stabber
Police say the background is criminal, not terrorist.

A 30-year-old man was stabbed outside the Hadar Mall in Jerusalem on Sunday. He was taken to Shaare Zedek Medical Center by Magen David Adom after being seriously wounded.An off-duty Israel Police officer, dressed in plain clothes, shot the 35-year-old stabber who was also taken to hospital in critical condition.A police spokesman said the policeman “saw the incident, identified the danger and shot the suspect who was armed with a knife.”The incident was confirmed by the police as criminal and not a terrorist attack.According to media reports, the stabber is associated to a well-known crime organization.Police launched an investigation into the incident.MDA EMT Uri Cohen said following the incident: “When I reached the scene I saw at the entrance to the mall two injured, a 35-year-old male lying on the road, conscious, with bullet wounds to his limbs and on the pavement nearby was a 30-year-old male with stab wounds to his upper body.“We treated them both with life-saving treatment and they were quickly evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in serious and moderate condition,” he said.
