Attorney-General Avichai Mandelblit on Thursday walked a middle ground in appealing two court decisions against the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in favor of his former house manager in a civil case, but not challenging the court’s statements against Sara Netanyahu.Mrs. Netanyahu herself filed an appeal on February 25 against the Jerusalem Labor Court’s findings that she was an abusive employer.Meni Naftali was house manager from February 2011 to November 2012.On February 10, court ruling had ordered the state to pay Naftali NIS 170,000 for poor treatment and failure to pay him for overtime hours. The appeal to the National Labor Court attacks the granting of compensation to Naftali, arguing that a promise made to him was unauthorized and, therefore, unenforceable, and attacking a new category of emotional harm that the Knesset is moving toward passing into law and the court validated.
