American NGO honors Israeli, PA, Jordanian police chiefs
According to figures put out by the Israel Police on Sunday, just this past year Israeli and Palestinian police have held some 480 work meetings.

A leadership prize was awarded to Israel Police Commissioner Insp.-Gen. Yohanan Danino and his Jordanian and Palestinian counterparts during a conference held by an American law enforcement nongovernmental organization in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday.Danino is sharing the Police Executive Research Forum prize for leadership with Interior Minister Hussein Hazza al-Majali, the former head of Jordan’s public security forces, and the head of the Palestinian Civil Police, Gen. Hazem Atallah. PERF has said that the award was given because of their ability to forge cooperation across international borders in fighting traffic violations, drug crimes, smuggling and other offenses.Accepting the award on Sunday, Danino said “crime and those who engage in it do not recognize conventional borders. Cooperation between the police forces in the region is the answer to effectively combat the criminal elements cooperating on all sides of the divide.”According to figures put out by the Israel Police on Sunday, just this past year Israeli and Palestinian police have held some 480 work meetings.In addition, the cooperation has included the handing over to Israel by PA police of 790 Israeli citizens arrested for crimes committed in Palestinian areas. The figures mention 595 stolen cars returned from PA areas to Israel over the past two years, a significant number, though a small portion of the 17,318 cars that were stolen in Israel from January to November 2013 alone.
