The Jewish Agency has stepped up to establish an immediate assistance fund with a total allocation of NIS 10 million for the communities situated along the conflict line in the northern region. This initiative comes as a follow-up to a similar aid package of NIS 10 million shekels that was swiftly provided to communities in the southern border area immediately after the outbreak of the war.

The agency has, thus far, extended support exceeding NIS100 million to populations affected by the war and terrorism. This substantial assistance has been made possible through the generous contributions of Jewish federations in North America, the Genesis Fund, and The Spirit of Israel, as well as donations from individuals worldwide and within Israel.

“The emergency aid provided by the Jewish Agency to the communities situated along the conflict line in the north will be utilized to address pressing needs, in accordance with the professional judgment of local authorities, and will be distributed promptly,” a statement on behalf of the Jewish Agency said on Sunday.

The following cities and councils are set to benefit from this aid package: Kiryat Shmona, Shlomi, Metula, Nahariya, Ma'ale Yosef, Upper Galilee, Mate Asher, Mevo'ot Ha’Hermon, Ma'ale Tarshiha, Marom HaGalil, Kfar Vradim, Me'ilia, Eilabun, Peki'in, and Fassuta.

The agency has also been instrumental in assisting new immigrants in conflict-affected areas, facilitating their relocation to secure regions, and distributing tens of thousands of food and medicine packages to the elderly and Holocaust survivors in absorption centers.

Major General (Ret.) Doron Almog, chairman of the Jewish Agency, engaged in discussions with the heads of northern authorities over the weekend, conveying the agency's commitment to provide assistance. He emphasized, "It is of utmost importance that you understand you are not alone in this endeavor.

The Jewish Agency is dedicated to supporting the communities along the conflict line in the south and north, as well as bolstering Israel's resilience during these challenging times. We monitor the security situation in the northern region daily, and in addition to ongoing donations and extensive activities, we have decided to establish an assistance fund to meet the immediate needs of cities and authorities."
