US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Israel from Egypt on Thursday night.

Witkoff and Kushner were in Egypt to facilitate ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas.

Negotiators in Egypt reached a deal to free the remaining hostages in Gaza and eventually end the Israel-Hamas War, US President Donald Trump announced early Thursday morning. 

Trump will head to the Middle East over the weekend, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said early on Thursday, after Trump announced a deal had been reached between Israel and Hamas to end the Gaza war and release all hostages.

The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip is set to begin shortly after 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.

This is based on an informal agreement between both parties without a signed document.

Cabinet to vote to approve ceasefire deal

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that he will bring the cabinet for a vote on the deal on Thursday.
