Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday met with the family of  St.-Sgt.-Maj. Ran Gvili, the last Israeli hostage whose remains are held in Gaza, to brief them on Israel’s efforts to bring him to burial in Israel.

Additionally, Netanyahu updated Thailand’s ambassador to Israel on efforts to recover the remains of Thai national Sudthisak Rinthalak, also held in Gaza, the Prime Minister’s Office said.

According to the PMO, Netanyahu praised the Gvili family’s “dignified and steadfast” conduct and reiterated Israel’s commitment to return all hostages, living and deceased.

The family expressed appreciation to the IDF, security agencies, the Hostages and Missing Persons Coordinator, and the prime minister for their determination to bring every hostage home.

Israel continues search efforts for remains of two hostages

Currently, the IDF is operating alongside international organizations to locate bodies in areas such as Zeitoun and Shejaia.

The Red Cross has been working with Hamas and Gaza's other terror groups to locate the remains of deceased hostages inside the area under Israel's military control in Gaza.

The Israeli government had authorized Hamas members to enter territory under IDF control to join the Red Cross members.
