Palestinian and Israeli activists from the left-wing Israeli group Looking the Occupation in the Eye were attacked on Friday by masked Israelis in the West Bank village of Qusra.
IDF and police forces were dispatched to the scene, and two Israeli civilians with head injuries were evacuated to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva for medical treatment.
Security forces are conducting searches to apprehend the suspected individuals, and the Israeli police have opened an investigation into the incident.
IDF: 'This is a serious incident'
"This is a serious incident. The IDF strongly condemns violence of any kind that undermines security and stability in the area and will continue to operate to maintain the security of residents and order in the region,” said the IDF.
According to Looking the Occupation in the Eyes, around 15-20 armed settlers took part in the attack, using iron rods and clubs to attack both Israeli activists and local Palestinians.
Two "foreign solidarity activists," a 51-year-old man and a 71-year-old woman, were also severely beaten, according to reports from the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.
Herzog condemns attack
President Isaac Herzog condemned the attack in a post on X/Twitter, stating that "such violence endangers lives, crosses a glaring red line, and stands in complete opposition to the values of the State of Israel, its laws, and the values of Judaism."
"This serious incident joins a number of recent harsh and unacceptable events that, first and foremost, harm the settlement enterprise and the good name of the State of Israel in the world," he said.
