17 days of war against the source of all evil in the Middle East and far beyond, evil that had almost 50 years to entrench and dig in, and the assorted enablers and appeasers of evil - from American Democrats to European "leaders" to Israeli "journalists" are whining that Iran is winning, war is pointless and victory can't be achieved.
On the 16th day after America began bombing Saddam Hussain out of Kuwait, the Iraqi rockets were falling on Israel and Saudi Arabia, Iraqi forces were driven out of a Saudi border town after a fierce 3-day battle and Saddam's thugs were looting Kuwait.
On the 16th day after America joined the WWII, Japanese successfully invaded the Philippines, butchered the American garrison at Wake Island, and in Pearl Harbor, rescuers were still frantically cutting into the hall of USS West Virginia, trying to save trapped sailors. They will fail.
You can think that Trump is a charlatan and Netanyahu is a crook. That's OK. Most people in US and UK thought Churchill was a fat pompous imperialist warmongering alcoholic. Roosevelt was loathed by almost half of Americans who considered him a socialist dictator wannabe.
But when you have to face Evil with a capital E, you go into battle with the weapons - and the leaders - you've got, and all you can do is to pray to whatever God you worship that the justice of the cause will prevail over the human weakness of those who lead it. You do not seek ceasefire with evil to wage war inside your own house. You do not compromise with evil for your selfish short-term benefit. And you do not actively help evil by working to undermine the confidence of the good.
Good people not always have good leaders to govern them, but they have good governance that allows for peaceful and regular replacement of leaders. Evil doesn't. The wars waged by good people can be good in their purpose and simultaneously bad and even evil in their execution. The wars of evil are always evil in their purpose and evil in their execution.
In a war between good and evil, the only outcome anyone concerned with survival of humanity can wish for is the victory of good, and the only question one can ask is "How can I help?"
With hope. With faith. With determination.
Forward unto dawn.
