"We are talking about a dangerous man to the State of Israel," said Deri. "I do not see any course of action other than revoking his citizenship. He is not worthy of being an Israeli."
Abdullah Hajla left the country six years ago and joined the fighting ranks of ISIS. He is being convicted of breach of trust of the State of Israel and damage to its security and that of its residents, due to which his citizenship will be revoked. This course of action was recommended by the General Security Service.
Deri clarified that Hajla holds another citizenship in addition to his Israeli one.
A request was filed by the District Court through the Central District Attorney's Office (Civil) to prevent Hajla from entering the country. The request was approved on Thursday night and gave Deri the green flag to begin his appeal to the court to revoke Hajla's citizenship.
