Education Minister Naftali Bennett bashed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for not supporting tougher restrictions on security prisoners who smuggle illegal cellphones into prisons, according to a report on Monday in Maariv, The Jerusalem Post's sister newspaper,."Stop being afraid of the terrorists, Mr. Netanyahu," Bennett wrote on Twitter. "The terrorists will threaten that they will be upset if you block their illegal cell phones in jail?"Ynet released a report that Netanyahu was against tougher restrictions.The defense establishment has since said that this is inappropriate timing for increased restrictions because of the volatile situation with the Palestinians, according to Maariv. "What are you waiting for, Mr. Defense Minister and Prime Minister?" Bennett asked rhetorically. Knesset Member Bezalel Smotrich (National Union) also criticized the defense establishment's position."No timing is suitable for submitting to terror and violence by terrorists," Smotrich tweeted. In December, the Shin Bet arrested seven Arab-Israelis and Palestinians for suspected smuggling of cellphones to security prisoners in the West Bank. They confiscated some 60 cellphones that were intercepted on their way to prison.
