Three men were arrested, in two separate cases, for spying for the Islamic Republic of Iran during the war with Israel, by the Lahav 433 National Crime Unit and with aid from the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), the authorities announced on Monday.

On the night between June 14 and 15, authorities arrested Yoni Segal, 18, and Omer Mizrahi, 20, from Tiberias. The two were in contact with Iranian agents over the past few months, passing along footage of shopping malls and information about them, like how many security guards there were, how many stores were inside, the outline of the building, and more. Some of the shopping malls included the Grand Mall in Haifa, Big Fashion in Tiberias, Dizengoff Center in Tel Aviv, and the Ichilov Hospital.

When they were at these specific locations, the two sent their live location to the agents and initiated more instructions.

It is also suspected that they were instructed to assassinate a person whose details are not known. In order to do so, they were asked to arrive in a different country to train for such an operation, and only then would they be told the identity of the target.

Later that day, authorities arrested Mark Morgan, 33, from the Jordan Valley, who was in contact with Iranian agents throughout the month and committed acts at their instruction. In one case, he arrived at a particular location where a grenade was hidden. “He understood that the grenade was designed to hurt civilians,” said the police. He also filmed the interception of a missile launched at Israel.

Interrogators submitted a police prosecution declaration on Monday against all three, paving the way for an eventual indictment, and the Petah Tikva Magistrate's Court extended their arrest until July 30.
