Modi'in resident Itai Levy, CEO of KERNELIOS cyber company, was found guilty of committing several sexual offenses against minors aged 4-12, according to a Wednesday statement from the State Prosecutor's Office and KAN News.
Levy confessed and pleaded guilty to four separate counts of statutory rape of a minor under 16 years of age, as well as indecent acts on a minor under 16 years of age, and violation of privacy.
As part of his plea bargain, the Prosecutor's Office requested that the court sentence Levy to ten years of actual prison time, as well as an additional suspended sentence and a NIS 258,000 fine.
Levy's numerous crimes against children
Over approximately 18 months, Levy photographed and recorded children without their knowledge while they were in various states of undress. He would then save the media on his phone, use it for his own gratification, and delete it.
On several occasions, Levy engaged in different kinds of non-consensual sexual activity with minors, the details of which are laid out in the Prosecutor's Office statement.
The former CEO is scheduled to be officially sentenced on May 20, 2026.
Recent instances of sex crimes in Israel
Earlier in January, a Haifa man was arrested on suspicion of having raped his daughter repeatedly over the course of several years, according to police.
The man allegedly began raping the girl when she was 7 years old and continued until she was 15, at which point the police intervened. Results of the investigation indicate that the suspect raped his daughter on several occasions in different locations around Haifa.
Once the police investigation was complete, a prosecutor's statement was filed, allowing authorities to extend the man's detention before an indictment.
