On Sunday, over 400 of Israel’s leading social figures, businessmen, artists and politicians attended the Tel Aviv Museum of Art’s International Board of Governors Gala Evening hosted by Ron Huldai, mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo and chairman of the museum’s international board. TAMA’s gala event is considered to be one of the most prestigious annual events on the Tel Aviv social scene.Guests were invited to experience the museum space in a new, unexpected way, and were taken on a sense-provoking artistic and culinary journey catered by Maasiya and chef Haim Sabag.This year we decided to take a fresh, new approach to the annual Gala, and to connect it to the spirit of young Israeli artists,” said museum director and chief curator Suzanne Landau.During the dinner, in the Lilly and Yoel Moshe Elstein multi-purpose gallery in the new Herta and Paul Amir building, a presentation of food-related videos, stills and photographs by young Israeli contemporary artists was projected on the gallery walls. Among the artists shown were Meirav Heiman, Shahar Marcus, Noa Yafe, Hila Lulu Lin Farrah Kufar Birim, Rami Mymon, David Adika, Zoya Cherkassy, Natalia Zourabova, Erez Israeli and Eli Petel. The evening came to a close with music and dancing.The event was organized by Dina Papo, director of public affairs and resource development at the museum, with the assistance of gala chairperson Ruth Sheetrit and committee members Miriam Zeltzer and Tamar Rudich.
