Actor shoves flag up rear end during Haaretz culture confab

An Israeli theater artist who describes himself as “post-post-Zionist” was forced off stage at a cultural conference put on by the liberal daily Haaretz on Sunday after he shoved a white flag into his posterior.
Ariel Bronz, who stars in a provocative one-man play titled Love the Juice: The Art of Squeezing the National Dream Into an Orange, was forcibly removed from the stage after initially refusing to leave despite pleas from organizers at the event.
Bronz’s microphone was disconnected and security guards at the venue escorted him off the stage.

Audience members began to jeer Bronz during the middle of his performance, with some people yelling, “Enough.”
When Bronz stopped to ask who yelled “enough,” he then threw two squeezed oranges at them.
A number of audience members got up from their chairs and left the hall, according to Haaretz. Some even began to throw oranges at Bronz.
The Jerusalem Post and a number of other media outlets erroneously reported that it was an Israeli flag, but an image from the event showed that Bronz was holding a white, unmarked flag. We apologize for the error.
