More than31 million people have seen 'Chicago' worldwide and now the US tour is coming to Israel for the first time Starring Shiri Maimon As 'Roxie Hart' March 7-16 at Heichal Hatarbut, Tel Aviv.

The production of Chicago has cast Israeli super-star Shiri Maimon for the lead role as 'Roxie Hart'.

As previously announced, Shiri Maimon was welcomed to star in the lead role as Roxie Hart in Chicago- the musical. In light of the Israeli casting, the production office 'Hadran' identified the opportunity and asked to bring the musical along with Maimon following her appearance on Broadway.

The Broadway revival production was first presented in 1996 and has been playing ever since with nearly 33,000 performances worldwide in more than 36 countries (from Australia in the south to Denmark in the north, and from Abu Dhabi in the east to Hawaii in the west) and more than 490 cities around the world. It is the longest-running musical revival on Broadway in New York and on the West End in London, a record breaking achievement.

Chicago is the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago’s slickest criminal lawyer to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today's tabloids.
