A clip of a song performed by former hostage Alon Ohel during his recent show at Tel Aviv’s Hangar 11 was released on Wednesday.

The clip features Ohel performing “Song Without a Name” as one of the evening’s high points.

Held two weeks ago, the concert celebrated Ohel’s first birthday outside captivity, coming four months after his release. Tickets sold out within hours, and the event included guest appearances by leading artists, including Shlomi Shaban, Idan Amedi, Eviatar Banai, Marina Maximilian Blumin, and Monica Sex.

After all the guest performances had ended, Ohel sat at the piano by himself and performed “Song without a Name.” Written by Shalom Hanoch, this is a song that was made famous in a version by Yehudit Ravitz.

Ohel played song for fellow captives while trapped in Hamas tunnels

Released hostage Eli Sharabi, who became close to Ohel in captivity and was freed in February 2025, said that Ohel played the song for fellow captives while they were held deep in Hamas tunnels in Gaza. Ohel gave a shout-out to Sharabi, who was in the audience at the concert.

The soft, sweet sound of the song has several lines that may suggest why it would have been comforting to Ohel as he was held hostage: “Silence around/And it would be if you were listening/Maybe, maybe, maybe/You come and go toward me/Maybe, maybe, maybe…/Because my song is the breeze/My open window/My source of strength, laughter and crying/The end of my torment/You come and go to me.”

In the performance, Ohel turned to the audience and asked them to sing two words with him: “Ketz yisurai” (“An end to my torment”).
