Blues over Tel Aviv: Fifth blues festival in the White City
Yaron Ben-Ami and Sagol 59 will present “Clarksdale, corner of Petah Tikva,” a show of classic blues, folk and country songs, translated into Hebrew, and Hagar Levi will offer a Nina Simone tribute.

This year’s Tel Aviv Blues Festival will have an especially local flavor to it, with homegrown talent taking over 20 venues in the city from November 22-25.Berlin-based, Arkansas-bred E.B. Davis will be the only import, performing in a free show at Mike’s Place in Tel Aviv with local favorites SOBO.Among the festival highlights are: Litani Blues, with Dani Litani and guest Dafna Armoni at the Einav Culture Center; Yair Dalal and the Blues Orient Band at the Bar Giora; tributes to John Mayall and his seminal album The Turning Point by Roy Rieck and friends and a tribute to harmonica legend Junior Wells featuring the country’s best harmonica players.Yaron Ben-Ami and Sagol 59 will present “Clarksdale, corner of Petah Tikva,” a show of classic blues, folk and country songs, translated into Hebrew, and Hagar Levi will offer a Nina Simone tribute.The festival is produced and managed by the Nobody’s Fault Productions company, which has been bringing dozens of blues artists to Israel since 2012 and is producing the blues festival for the fifth time.
