The Geffen family and their close friends turned up in force for the premiere of Yonatan Geffen’s new TV show, The World is Sad so we Laugh. The launch event was held at Tzavta in Tel Aviv with three generations of the Geffen family in attendance.
Geffen’s son singer and composer Aviv Geffen was there with his wife, Shani Friedan, and their son, Dylan.
Geffen’s daughter, actress, screenwriter, film director and author of children’s books Shira Geffen came with her author and playwright husband, Etgar Keret, and Geffen’s ex-wife, interior designer and decorator Nurit Geffen, was also there to add to the family boost.
Included among the showbiz personalities and other celebrities who filled the auditorium were Miki Gavrielov, Nitza Shaul, Josie Katz, Sari Ansky, Shiraz Tal, Gabi Amrani, Israel Gurion and Eldad Koblentz, the CEO of Educational Television and the new, yet to be launched Israel Broadcasting Corporation, who congratulated Geffen on this latest achievement.
In its first season, the show will run for 15 weeks and will be broadcast on Fridays, beginning this week, on Educational Television. Yonatan Geffen is a nephew of Moshe Dayan, as is former national security chief Uzi Dayan.
Whereas the Dayan side of the family went into security and politics, the Geffen side went into entertainment and the arts.
