Hot on the heels of the announcement that Brian Wilson will be coming to Israel to perform Pet Sounds in its entirety, two additional rock stalwarts have been added to the spring concert list.
Influential British post-punk political agitators Gang of Four will be promoting their new album What Happens Next and performing vintage tunes at the Barby Club on April 1.
Only original guitarist Andy Gill is present in the current-day band, whose late 1970s-early 1980s mixture of punk and funk with strident call-to-action lyrics made them the most political band of the punk era – even more than The Clash.
Bands like REM, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Nirvana have cited the critically acclaimed but commercially famished band as a huge influence on their sound and style.
On the other side of the musical spectrum, metal headbangers Megadeth, with their vocally pro-Israel frontman Dave Mustaine, return to carry on their mutual love affair with Israeli fans on July 2 at the Rishon Lezion LivePark.
With Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band announcing that their acclaimed current tour performing the landmark 1980 album The River in its entirety would be heading to Europe in May, with a date at a Portugal festival, is an announcement of an Israel debut for the Boss finally forthcoming?
