Enjoy a full weekend of Mozart on January 21-23 at The Elma Arts Complex Hotel in Zichron Ya’akov, which is hosting an international festival celebrating the 260th anniversary of the birth of the maestro. During the three days of the festival there will be a variety of solo recitals, vocal programs, chamber music performances, dance workshops and lectures.
Opening the festival is a special concert featuring Mozart’s Coronation Mass, one of the composer’s best-known works. Also on the program is the Concerto for Two Pianos, featuring American pianist and musicologist Malcolm Bilson and Russian fortepianist Zvi Meniker. Other highlights include a performance of Mozart’s beloved opera The Magic Flute, with Hebrew commentary, as well as a performance of Mozart’s cantata Davide Penitente, a rarely performed work derived from the unfinished Great Mass in C minor.
