American pop rockers One Republic, one of the world’s most popular bands, will be performing in Israel as part of their 2015 world tour.
The band announced on their Facebook page Wednesday that “we added another date to the #Native Tour! We will be coming to Tel Aviv, Israel at Ramat Gan Stadium on May 28.”
The group, led by prolific songwriter and singer Ryan Tedder, relied on post-music industry means to get their music to the public, originally rising to prominence via MySpace. Signed and dropped by Sony BMG, the Colorado-based band was later signed by hip hop producer Timbaland, and since 2007, through three albums and millions of downloads and YouTube views, they’ve established themselves as international stars with their tuneful, mainstream pop.
Tedder has also broken out as a “go to” songwriter, writing and producing songs for artists like Adele, Beyoncé, Maroon 5, Leona Lewis and One Direction. Billboard magazine named him “The Undercover King of Pop” and last year featured him on the magazine’s cover.
