For months, the Vertigo Dance Company has been putting together a tour to Central America to perform White Noise. This trip, which includes stops in Mexico, Panama, Peru and Nicaragua, was painstakingly organized over countless emails, phone calls and meetings. It is being supported by the Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Ministry of Jerusalem and Heritage, as part of the 70th anniversary of Israel’s independence. However, just a few moments before packing their bags, directors Noa Wertheim and Adi Sha’al were informed that they had to quickly rethink their itinerary.Due to massive riots and political unrest, Vertigo was forced to cancel all of its performances in Nicaragua. This was to have been Vertigo’s first visit to the country.Instead, Wertheim, Sha’al and the Vertigo staff decided to extend their time in Mexico and Panama in order to offer classes to local communities.
