EL AL Airlines has announced a new direct flight from Manchester to Tel Aviv.
The announcement was made today at the opening of World Travel Market by EL AL Airlines Vice President for Commercial and Industry Affairs Michael Strassburger, together with the Director General of the Ministry of Tourism, Amir Halevi.
The new route is scheduled to start on May 26, 2019, with flights from Manchester Airport to Ben-Gurion Airport. The flights will operate on a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, offering two service classes, business and economy class three times per week.
“El Al will significantly expand its roster of destinations in Europe in 2019. After announcing direct flights to Lisbon and Nice and the introduction of our new fare model that enables customers to choose how they want to fly and how much they want to pay, we are delighted to announce another new route. Manchester has a large Jewish community and is a center of business and tourism. This is good news not only for Israeli consumers; we also anticipate carrying thousands of tourists to Israel on this new route,” Strassburger said.
“We are delighted that EL AL will be opening up a flight path from Manchester to Tel Aviv. With more carriers flying to Israel it is clear that there is an ever-increasing demand to visit our country, and we look forward to showing everything we have to offer to visitors in 2019,” said Minister of Tourism Yariv Levin.
